July Holiday 06/07 - 10/07 Secondary School Transfer Trail Tests (HAST)
Toplogic will conduct 5 online trial tests for students seeking school transfers and planning to apply to schools that use the Higher Ability Selection Test (HAST) as the entrance exam for Year 8-10 selective school entry in August. These trial tests are designed to help students become familiar with the exam format, question types, question volume, and difficulty level.
The program will also include guidance on preparing for the writing section, covering strategies for analysing and planning various types of writing tasks. Each trial test will include a detailed analysis report for each section, access to an online database for collecting incorrect questions, and sample essays for the writing tasks.
Please note: Students will not be able to view the questions they answered correctly after completing the test, but they will be able to access their incorrect answers online.
The following selective schools use HAST as their entrance exam provider:
Fort Street High School
Girraween High School
Gosford High School
Hornsby Girls' High School
Hurlstone Agricultural High School
Macquarie Fields High School
Northern Beaches Secondary College
Penrith Selective High School
Ryde Secondary College
St George Girls High School
Sefton High School
Daily Schedule:9:30 am – 1 pm – One set of online trial tests will be assigned each day (Reading Comprehension, Mathematical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, and Written Expression). Students can complete the tests at their own convenience before the two-hour online explanation session begins each day.
1 – 1:30 pm    – Lunch Break (Time for lunch at home)
1:30 – 3:30 pm – A two-hour online Zoom lesson to explain the trial test questions, including tips for improving reading and writing skills.
